			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h2>So Your Outlook is Corrupted?</h2>
<p>One of the most common issues with Microsoft Exchange Outlook is the inability to open your email client at all, due to what is known as a PST utility file error message. Do not automatically assume that this is because of a problem with your local computer. PST corruptions happen on an Exchange server generally—and not on individual workstations. However, that doesn’t mean that this problem is any less severe; it is actually more severe because it is likely affecting many users.  It needs to be promptly remedied; if not, you and your associates risk losing all contacts, settings, e-mails and calendars.</p>
<p>Without the Outlook.pst file it’s very simple: Exchange Outlook will cease to work. What’s worse is that a corrupted PST file on an Exchange server may be caused by a virus, and is capable of propagating itself throughout your network. Furthermore, if your PST utility has been corrupted by an outage or internal network flaw, it is strongly advised that you have the problem analyzed and repaired by a professional.<br />
We are a company who can typically repair this problem in just 30 minutes. Here are several things that could indicate a corrupt PST utility file:</p>
<ul>
<li>If you’ve recently had a power outage, and one of your computers was affected (that Outlook up-and-running), this could be the problem.</li>
<li>If Outlook is loading up very slowly.</li>
<li>A corrupted network device could also be the culprit. Since the PST resides on a server, the problem can easily spread through your network via NIC’s, routers, hubs, connections and so forth.</li>
<li>If Outlook gives you an error message saying that it is “unable to open/display folder”.</li>
<li>If you see a “ISTORX32.DLL error when you initiate Outlook.</li>
<li>If and when you initiate the Detect and Repair option and you get a “1931” error, this means that essential patches (security updates) cannot get through—the result is that your whole server becomes vulnerable.</li>
<li>If you receive a 0&#215;80040119 error.</li>
</ul>

<p>Support Nerds was recently interviewed on WBKO  about the issues faced by many small businesses in light of the McAfee  Bug. Kyle Springer explained how many small businesses across the nation are left dealing with the McAfee bug on their own.</p>

<p>Your anti-virus software may have glitched your computer and you may not even know it.</p>
<p>On Wednesday, a faulty program by the McAfee software caused PC problems all across the country, including Kentucky.</p>
<p>But a least one computer expert says for some, the problem may last a few more days.</p>
<p>&#8220;You would just be sitting here and your internet would disappear, your PC would slow down and you wouldn&#8217;t know why,&#8221; explained Kyle Springer, CEO for Support Nerds, of Bowling Green.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a problem that&#8217;s kept Springer busy since Wednesday.</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s just been ramping up since,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It will probably go through the weekend because some people probably still don&#8217;t know what the problem is with their PC.&#8221;</p>
<p>Springer is the head of a Bowling Green company called Support Nerds.</p>
<p>He says his company has taken 30 to 40 calls a day regarding a glitch stemming from the anti-virus software, McAfee.</p>
<p>&#8220;Somewhere in their programming they had messed up and completed what&#8217;s called a &#8216;false positive,&#8217; where it actually deleted a Windows file and disables your internet,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>The glitch struck government offices, schools and even some hospitals across the country.</p>
<p>And while according to McAfee, the problem only affected corporate customers, Springer says it&#8217;s been the small businesses that continue to suffer.</p>
<p>&#8220;They don&#8217;t have an IT department, so when they have these issues it&#8217;s just as if they&#8217;re at home,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They don&#8217;t have an IT person to go to and they don&#8217;t know what the problem is, so business is down and they&#8217;re losing money.&#8221;</p>
<p>Other computer repair shops we spoke to say they haven&#8217;t seen many problems from the glitch.</p>
<p>They add that they do tell their customers just to avoid McAfee software all together because of problems.</p>
<p>McAfee has posted fixes to the problem on its website.</p>
