Safe Mode Disabled by Virus

So you have found you have a virus, typically one of the fake anti-virus programs and your computer will run normally but not in safe mode, when you make the selection during windows boot it just resets. This is because the virus has disabled safe mode boot key in the registry. If you are an experienced PC user, we are providing instructions below to edit the registry and re-enable safe mode if you are able and the virus has not blocked you out of safe mode.
